What does California traffic school cost?
The course price is only one part of the total. Separate the school’s fee from the amount owed to your court before comparing low-cost traffic schools.
Our course preview provides no court credit. Official completion reporting is not available.
Three amounts to keep separate.
California Courts explains that eligible drivers pay both court charges and a traffic-school fee. Your notice and the school’s checkout answer different questions.
Read the California Courts guideYour citation amount
Use the balance on your court notice or official court account. A school’s advertised price does not pay your ticket.
The court’s traffic-school charge
Confirm the additional amount the court requires when you request traffic school. Paying a school does not request permission from the court.
The school’s complete price
Check the required course and reporting charges, then any extras you choose. Save the final total before paying.
Our planned basic price: $2.99.
California Licensing Education’s currently configured basic course fee is $2.99. It is a planned school fee, not a total for resolving a citation. Public enrollment and payment are closed.
There is no purchasable offer on this page. When enrollment opens, review the published inclusions, refund policy, and checkout total before paying.
If you cannot afford the court amount.
Once the court has decided that you owe a fine, you can ask it to consider your ability to pay. The court may lower the fine, give you more time to pay, arrange a payment plan, or allow community service instead of payment. The court decides what help is available in your case.
Start with the California Courts guide to payment help. It explains MyCitations and the alternative TR-320 court form if you cannot use the online tool. Follow your court’s filing instructions.
Court relief concerns court debt. It does not pay a private school’s tuition or enroll you in a course. Our school refund terms are separate. Public enrollment and official reporting here remain closed.
Write down your actual costs.
Copy these blanks onto paper or use your browser’s Print command. Use your court’s current balance and the school’s complete price. This is a comparison aid, not a bill, court application, or offer to enroll.
After any court decision about payment help, use the updated amount the court confirms. Do not subtract a hoped-for reduction. Keep the court’s payment dates and the course completion deadline separate.

How to compare cheap traffic schools.
Confirm the license first.
Look up the school in the DMV directory, match the name and license, and confirm that it offers the course format you need. A low price does not establish eligibility.
Read what the price includes.
Ask about mandatory reporting charges, exam retakes, access expiration, and support. Compare the same set of services between schools.
Check optional extras.
A printed copy, delivery upgrade, or other add-on can change the total. Choose only what you need and understand what the upgrade actually provides.
Check the deadline and refund terms.
Confirm enrollment is open and reporting is available before paying. Read cancellation conditions and how the school handles a missed deadline.
Price questions, answered.
“Cheapest” and “instant” are comparisons that need evidence. We do not promise either.
Is $2.99 the total I owe for my ticket?
No. It is our planned basic school fee only. Court amounts are separate, and our paid enrollment is not open.
Is a free course preview valid traffic school?
No. Our preview does not issue a completion, provide court credit, or report to DMV. It is a way to inspect the learning experience.
Does paying the school automatically pay the court?
No. Follow your court’s instructions for permission, payment, and the completion deadline.
Is this the cheapest traffic school in California?
We have not established that claim. Compare current checkout totals and required services, not a headline price alone.
