How long does California traffic school take?

Plan for the lessons, the final exam, the required course evaluation, and confirmation that your court received the result. Those are separate steps; a fast-loading website does not make a completion instant.

Public enrollment is closed.

Our course preview provides no court credit. Official completion reporting is not available.

Online course length is not a universal stopwatch.

DMV’s OL 613 distinguishes classroom instruction from non-classroom instruction: it specifies at least 340 instructional minutes for a classroom course or 42,500 words for a non-classroom course, plus at least 60 minutes provided for the final test.

That standard does not establish one personal finishing time for every online student. Read the school’s course rules, allow time to learn the material, and check the deadline on your court notice.

Read DMV’s course standard

Leave time for every step.

  1. Confirm your court’s permission and deadline.

Start with your notice. Ask the court about any uncertainty before enrolling. The school cannot change your court’s deadline.

  2. Finish the required lessons and examination.

Reserve time for reading, review, breaks, and any allowed retake. Do not choose a school on a promise that you can skip required work.

  3. Complete the course evaluation.

After passing the final examination, submit the required course evaluation (OL 767). This evaluation is separate from the exam. The separate online DMV survey does not replace OL 767. Allow time for this required step before checking completion reporting.

  4. Check the school’s reporting availability.

Ask how and when the school submits completion and how you will receive confirmation. Our official DMV reporting is not active yet.

  5. Verify the result with your court.

Keep your school’s confirmation and follow the court’s instructions for checking your case. A school submission and a result posted to your case are different events.

If your deadline is close.

Contact your court now, check the available options, and choose a licensed school that is accepting enrollments and can explain its reporting process. Do not rely on our preview to meet a deadline.

Can I finish California traffic school instantly?

A valid completion requires the required learning and examination. We do not sell an instant certificate or a way to skip the course.

Does “online” mean there are no course requirements?

No. Course format does not remove the curriculum, examination, identity, or eligibility requirements that apply to a valid enrollment.

Does passing the test mean my court has received it?

No. Course completion, submission, and the court’s case status are distinct steps. Keep your records and verify with the court.

Can I enroll with California Licensing Education today?

No. Public enrollment and official reporting are closed. You can inspect the preview without earning court credit.
